Water Babies Are Lashed With No Panda Eyes

What can be more embarrassing than to realise you had panda eyes at the pool or beach? The mirror doesn’t lie, and no one will tell you, most of the time, that you look like a football player, with black circles under your eyes.

One client came in with a friend who had just gone through an embarrassing time thanks to her running mascara. My client’s friend had attended a special pool party—at her fiancé’s parents’ home! The client tried to talk her friend into getting extensions before the big party, as this was the first time she was to meet his parents. Unfortunately, she couldn’t talk her girlfriend into the extensions before the party. Later, in tears, her friend came over, and admitted that she should have listened to her friend’s advice. 

Her fiancé was rubbing his hand under his eyes to signal to her that she needed to wipe her eyes because his parents wanted to take some candid photos to show other family. Her friend made a modest attempt to wipe her eyes—without a mirror, and saw later that in the pictures, she was sporting panda eyes! Well, not much hope that those pictures will be deleted by his parents, and who knows how many people they were planning on showing them off to!

Glam At The Gym!

With a few short weeks until the Olympics hit London, clients are making new commitments to get in shape and Rebecca*, who has desperately wanted to get in shape, is using this year’s Olympic Games to motivate her! 

Her advice is to have a goal like our Olympic team.  Like weight loss, work out goals like times or laps, and to be creative.   And during her workout sessions Rebecca has said how much her lash extensions has given her confidence to go to the gym.  Whilst sweating away the pounds, the lashes have kept her glam at the gym.

Lashes are a girl’s best friend in the gym. They go through workouts fearlessly, never looking anything but buff. You can run, but your mascara won’t—because you won’t need any!

The Part-Timers - Holiday Lash Addicts!

The LASHsalon has been busy with my part-timers, the ladies who come in only when they are off on holiday.  Because from night-time partying to beach bronzing it, lashes make the perfect companions so many ladies who go without extensions come in for their annual lash treat so they don't worry about their lashes on holiday. 

Just think… no more waterproof mascara, no ugly smudges, but glorious, long, gorgeous, perfect lashes. A little lip gloss, sunscreen, maybe a tinted moisturizer, and you are good to go! 

One less thing to worry about and a mascara free holiday. 

Mascara can take forever to apply, and is always needing looking after—smudges, flakes, reapplication, messy and timely removal. No matter how good the mascara is, it falls short of the natural or full beauty of lash extensions and takes away valuable TIME to enjoy relaxing.

From Batty Betty to Bride-to-be!

You know the desperate look of a Bridezilla from the minute she steps into the salon door…the impatient, stressed-out look that only a bride-to-be with a wedding coming up too soon has. Bridezilla “Betty,” as I will call her, was “batty” with demands, and wouldn’t listen to reason right off the bat.

She wanted the full-on glam set with heavy lashes that would have looked dramatic on her, but would have overtaken her natural beauty on the day that she should let it shine through, her wedding day. Did she want to have eyelashes that eclipsed all else?—I asked her, hoping to calm her down and talk reason into her quickly so we could move forward. Lash extensions take some time to apply, and she seemed, by the sound of her packed schedule to be a little stressed.

Thankfully, I was able to talk her into the extra full natural but glamorous set so that her beauty could shine through on the most important day of her life. Because the process of applying lashes is so relaxing, by the time we were done, she told me that she felt like she had been to a spa!

Our Batty Betty had now become a Beautiful Bride-to-be, thanks to LASHbyFrancesca.

Don't Do An Anna!

I received a frantic call from Amanda, my assistant, that Anna* is desperate for an appointment. She was almost begging, as she had forgotten a big special event and wanted to look fabulous for it. Unlike most women, Anna had forgotten her wedding anniversary - I mean, can you believe that? But its not surprising, she is a busy woman. Sadly though, I was fully booked.

I have known Anna a long time and realising this was an important event I agreed to see her exceptionally, out of normal business hours. When she arrived at the salon she almost fell in the door, in her haste to have her glamorous infill. Once on the beauty couch, we chatted about this and that and she said she was looking forward to her anniversary dinner and she relaxed. I am told all the time that coming to me and having their lashes done, is very relaxing. Well, there is when there’s not a hot topic of conversation going on!

I’ve seen Anna since for another infill and asked her about how her anniversary celebrations went. She said that she had a great dinner and was presented with a fabulous diamond, with which she was delighted. I'm just jealous!

When she left, Anna giggled saying she knew what she really wanted on her anniversary. I smiled when she said, 'to have lovely lashes'. Anna has promised to book her appointments much earlier in future. I’m pleased.

She doesn’t want to be cured - she loves her lashes.

Its amazing what clients tell you when they have their eyes closed and are relaxing on my beauty couch in my LASHsalon. Claudia* works for an airline and has a 3 year old child.

She told me she woke with a start the other day, looked at the clock and realised that she had slept over and that the nanny would arrive in 30 minutes and she had to leave for work in 40 minutes. She had to get her child ready and herself and in a panic she gave their pet dog rice crispies and her child the contents of a tin of dog food for breakfast - both looked at her as if she was mad! Fortunately, both rejected the offer.

Realising how long her beauty routine takes, she told me that doing her mascara was a real pain as it took ages to get it looking right and don't we all know that? The more she lashed on the mascara the worse she said it looked, but it was important for her to look great - not just for her job but more because she wanted to look special for herself, as any woman does.

She laughed as she said she was so relieved she had her lash extensions as they saved her so much time in the mornings. All she has to do when she gets out of the shower is to gently brush them with a clean mascara wand and they are restored to their original beauty.

Claudia is a lash addict for which sadly, there is no cure. She doesn’t want to be cured - she loves her lashes.
