Back to School – back to lashes!

 

What a summer it has been! This year we enjoyed a summer so warm and sunny that even perpetual naysayers were too busy relaxing at the beach to complain. However, the cosy Autumn season is now upon us and mums have switched gears – from chilled out entertainment on the beach to hectic early, grab and go mornings whisking the kids off to school. One of my ladies, Gemma, is especially busy—with several kids in different grade levels she has her hands full as she works full-time too! Carefree Lashes make for Carefree Holidays!

Clients are coming back all aglow and well-rested from holidays. It is great to see clients refreshed and rejuvenated, and getting prepared for autumn events ahead. Libby, a client just in the other day, gushed about how easy it was to take care of her lashes on holiday, and how much time and worry they saved her.

Who doesn’t wake up in the morning with sleepy, tired eyes? Lash extensions make you look perky even when you are not, and, if you are running to the daycare or school with the kids, or off to work, you can rest assured that there is one less thing to worry about. Clients agree that having lash extensions has saved them loads of time, and gobs of mascara!—in the morning.

Client losing lashes more on one eye?

A client came into the salon in tears, wondering why she had been losing lashes on one eye and not the other. This is a common thing that can happen during sleep, I reassured her, and we did an infill so they would be balanced again. What happens in this case is that during sleep, if you roll over on to one side, the lashes on one eye can be more susceptible to being lost. It is an easy fix, thankfully. Sleeping on your back, and placing a pillow to lie on either side of your head to keep it in place during sleep will keep you from rolling in deep sleep and losing lashes.  Or you can fold your pillow and lay on your cheek making sure the lashes are free.

Once you are in the habit of sleeping on your back it will be easier to stay that way—and another great reason to sleep on your back is that it is better for your spine and should keep from throwing it out of whack and having back and neck aches, another plus for beauty! Good posture is gorgeous on you! 

There are also wonderful pillows available to help with comfort, good posture, and keeping your head and neck aligned while you sleep. Try a buckwheat, water base pillow, or memory foam style. Each pillow has its own advantages and it may take a little research to find one that is most comfortable for you. Keeping your head and neck in a proper sleeping position will keep your lashes perfectly gorgeous, keep your fatigue to a minimum thanks to a great night sleep, and give you great posture—all prerequisites to beauty!
